I'm a senior at the University of Scranton studying Computer Science and Mathematical Sciences with passion for science and technology. In my free time I'm a very outdoorsy person helping run hiking retreats at my University, serve as a senator for the Student Government and a club leader.
My name is Serhii Kuzmin and I'm an aspiring developer and researcher on a mission to bridge mathematics and computer science to create technologies that make a lasting impact.
The cornerstone of my philosophy is I need to do my best and try my hardest to achieve my goals. This extends to every part of my life. Everything from my academic endeavours, to personal hobbies. I believe a person who is truly committed to what they love is the one who won't regret much in life because of simply trying to pursue their dreams and interests.
Since childhood, I've been fascinated by technology. As a kid, I wanted to be like Iron Man. However, it wasn't just about being a superhero. It was about being a person with a genius and unique mind who can push boundaries of what's possible. That became my mission and has shaped me into who I am today. I continue to excel in multiple disciplines in Computer Science and Math, mastering programming and problem solving, and exploring the cutting edge of technology.
I'm well versed in both Computer Science and Mathematics. Most of my programming skills I've mastered on my own through self study and then further improved in my college classes.
My research passion lies at the intersection of theoretical foundations and real-world applications, bridging Computer Science and Mathematics to drive practical innovation.
Exploring deep learning, neural networks, and AGI possibilities
Quantum algorithms and their applications in solving complex problems
Post-quantum cryptographic systems for secure communication
Applied mathematics in computational contexts
Years of competing have sharpened my problem-solving skills and mathematical thinking
Awarded with a Gold Medal
Multiple First Places
6/6 Semesters
Beyond the code and equations, I'm driven by a deep curiosity about how things work and a desire to push the boundaries of what's possible. Every problem is a puzzle waiting to be solved, every limitation an opportunity for innovation. I believe in the power of technology to amplify human potential and create a better future for all.
My family is my foundation. Everything I do is inspired by them and for them. Their unwavering support fuels my determination to pursue excellence with rigor and curiosity. As someone working at the intersection of Computer Science and Mathematics, I believe that every tool I create and every piece of research I explore holds the potential to meaningfully improve the lives of those around me.
My goal is to pursue a PhD at the intersection of applied mathematics and computer science, focusing on AI, quantum computing, and cryptography. I believe these fields hold the key to solving humanity's greatest challenges - from curing diseases to expanding our understanding of the universe itself.
I want to build technologies that don't just solve today's problems, but create possibilities we haven't even imagined yet.
